How the month runs

Four chapters, one double-entry ledger underneath. Each list starts with the first plan that includes it.

Bank feeds in, books kept every day. Connect checking, savings and cards through Plaid. Your rules book what they recognize, the AI codes the rest to your chart of accounts with a confidence score and a reason, and anything it isn’t sure of waits in Review. Confirm once and it becomes a rule for that merchant. Checks always come to you.

The accounting underneath

Every action writes balanced entries to a double-entry general ledger. That is why the statements tie, the balance sheet balances, and an accountant can pick the books up as they are.

Anything new waits for a person.

A new account, a drafted invoice or bill, and a proposed month-end entry each wait for someone to approve it. Confident transactions book themselves, and every entry keeps its source: the bank line, the bill or the approval.

For your accountant

  • Exports to PDF, Excel with live formulas, and CSV

Coming from QuickBooks, Xero or a spreadsheet?

Bring your history across, catch up however far behind you are, and add a person for the move when you want one.

  1. 01

    Bring your QuickBooks Online history

Connect QuickBooks Online and Numbrr copies your transactions, invoices, bills, customers and vendors, then checks them against your QuickBooks trial balances, account by account. Coming from Xero, Wave or a spreadsheet, your history comes in by CSV.

  2. 02

    Catch up, however far behind

Unlimited bookkeeping catch-up is included on every plan. The first sync brings in your history, and every answer you give in Review becomes a rule for the months after.

  3. 03

A person for the move, if you want one

Add a Dedicated Controller and they handle the transition with you, from your old system or bookkeeper, then review your books each month.

Questions, answered

What founders ask first. The full FAQ covers how the AI decides, month end, pricing, and what Numbrr does not do.

All 115 questions, answered
01Does Numbrr replace QuickBooks?

Yes. Numbrr is the system your books live in: bank and card feeds, a double-entry ledger, financial statements, and from Numbrr One, invoices, bills and pay runs. Connect QuickBooks Online once to bring your history across, and run your books in Numbrr from then on. QuickBooks is a migration source, with no ongoing sync.

02What happens when the AI isn’t sure?

Anything below the confidence threshold waits in Review, with the merchant, the amount, the suggested account, the reason and the confidence. You answer once, and you can apply the answer to that merchant from then on as a rule. After the first month, about 5% of transactions come to you.

03Can my CPA or tax preparer get access?

Yes. Every plan includes accountant seats on top of your users (one on Starter, two on Numbrr One, three on Pro, and custom on Enterprise), and viewers are unlimited. You choose what each person can do, and every report exports to PDF or Excel.

04How do bank connections work?

Through Plaid. You sign in to your bank inside Plaid’s own window, and Numbrr receives a read-only feed of your transactions and balances. Numbrr never sees or stores your online banking password. Accounts that can’t connect come in by CSV.

05I’m months behind. Can I start?

Yes. Unlimited bookkeeping catch-up is included on every plan. The first sync brings in your history, Review asks about what’s unclear, and each answer becomes a rule for the months after. On QuickBooks Online, you can import your history instead.

Every transaction booked. Every statement tied.
